We offer regular trainings, workshops and one-on-one support to the child care community, whether they be licensed centers, licensed family child care homes, informal (not licensed) or prospective providers. The range of topics of our workshops include:
- Child development
- How to become a licensed child care provider
- Provider/parent relationships
- Working with children with special needs
- Childhood nutrition
- Running a child care business, including marketing, taxes, & employment
We maintain a Resource Library with developmentally appropriate toys, books, and curriculum kits.
We help providers who are not licensed to apply to a state-wide registry (Trustline) of in-home child care providers and nannies who have passed a background check and fingerprinting clearance.
We participate in community events and meetings and we do advocacy on behalf of children and families.
We gather and provide data on child care supply and demand, and work towards increasing the supply of child care spaces in Sonoma County.
