Coaching, Training and Certifications
4Cs offers a wide range of trainings for child care providers, including one-time workshops and quality certification programs designed to promote excellence.
Quality Counts
Open to any licensed child care program, Quality Counts is an initiative offering coaching, technical assistance, professional development and recognition through a quality Tier Rating System. Interested providers can apply anytime, however applications are reviewed each January, and all those accepted are connected with a Quality Counts Coach to discuss goals for participation.
What is Quality Counts Coaching?
Quality Counts Coaching is a quality improvement, recognition, and support program for early care and education sites in Sonoma County.
By participating in Quality Counts, programs will receive:
- Access to local free or reduced-cost professional development trainings.
- Ongoing on-site support, training, and coaching.
- Financial and/or material participation incentives (when funding allows).
- Recognition by our Building Blocks program (optional).
Eligibility
Anyone who provides care or education for a child (ren) ages 0-5 qualifies for our support!
How to Participate:
Contact us and you will be connected with a coach who will support you with your current needs related to caring for young children.

Early Learning Scholarships – Funded by First 5 Sonoma County
These scholarships give low-income children ages 0-5 an opportunity to attend high-quality early learning programs. Participating providers must be in the Quality Counts program and rated at tier 4 or higher.

Child Care Initiative Project (CCIP)
Training and technical support for individuals interested in getting a family child care license. Open to providers at all stages of licensing, including those already caring for children without a license. Generous financial and material incentives for participation are available thanks to partnership with the California Department of Education and First 5 Sonoma County. This training is part of Santa Rosa Junior College’s Adult Education Child Care Business Certificate Program.
